A community working together for every child

Every child deserves the best possible start to life. Across Belconnen, A Village for Every Child (Village) continues to bring families, community organisations, early childhood services, education providers and government together around this shared commitment. 

Our vision is for a Belconnen where every child is physically healthy, emotionally resilient, socially connected and fully prepared for lifelong learning and growth. We believe that achieving this vision requires more than individual services working independently. It takes a connected community, shared purpose and sustained collaboration. 

Over recent months, we have seen this commitment come to life through new partnerships, practical resources, community education, collaborative projects and conversations about the future of early childhood development. 

The work reflects the five conditions of Collective Impact: a common agenda, mutually beneficial reinforcing activities, shared measurement, continuous communication and backbone support.

Where 2026 begins

In 2025, many things began to take shape.

Conversations turned into actions and partnerships strengthened. This year builds on that foundation.

There is a growing understanding that Collective Impact work takes time. Systems are complex, and change does not happen overnight. Families are looking for information and supports that are practical and relevant to their everyday lives.

At the same time, the broader landscape is evolving. New policies are emerging and services are adapting. While some changes may bring challenges, others will open the door to growth, innovation, and meaningful improvement.

So, this is where 2026 begins.
